MFSTC Newsletter

The in-person meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by President, Mike McCullough. Mike introduced the club officers, Vice President, Dwane Meanor, Treasurer, Mr. Gary Pennington and Mr. Tom Burleson, Secretary and Newsletter. Mike acknowledged all the volunteers and thanked them for their service.

Mini Hunt: Due to the time change we will start back having our Mini Hunts next month. They will start at 6:30 PM prior to the 7:00 PM meeting.

Refreshments: Pizza was provided by the club again this month.

Thank You: Carol Rinker and Ed Stratton for helping with the raffles and Dave Franz for handing out the door prize tickets ever month.

February’s Club Outing: The outing was held at Leaking Park in Baltimore City on Saturday February 18th.

Next Month Club Outing: For more details contact Kevin Weis or Dwayne Meanor (Bear)

Upcoming Outings: 2nd week in March a 4-day hunt in Mt Airy, North Carolina on 7,000 Ackers, Cost $215.00 Location to be announced at a later date. Members only hunt will be October 7, 2023, Members only hunt will be October 7, 2023

Merchandise Sales: Testing will be done in March, June, September, and November See Nathan Pressler.

Club Library: See John Vice the Librarian.

New Business: We are able to get your 2023 Baltimore County Permits at our meetings.

Presentation: Mike McCullough presented a PowerPoint that touched on a number of areas of historical interest spanning early Gwynn’s Falls history, a famous Negro baseball league player, and a Carroll County creamery operation. The title was ‘In search of H. M. Zile. Thank you, Mike!

Donations: David Franz donated one of his hand-crafted wooden banks for raffle. Thank you, Dave. The winner of the bank was Kevin Weis. Ron Sisk and Steve Zulich donated wheat pennies. Thank you, Dave, Ron and Steve.
